Aims of the Training

'Noise Awareness' aims to help your organisation be legally compliant with the Control of Noise at Work Regulations. It will give your managers and employees an improved awareness of the risks associated with noise and how the risks can be managed which will enable them to contend with the risk in the workplace.

Content

The 'Noise Awareness' course helps all levels of employees meet the requirements of the 'Control of Noise at Work Regulations' by following the Health and Safety Executive's Guidance note 'Noise at work - Guidance for employers on the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005' (INDG362).

The Course contains the following sections:

Assessment

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 12 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 75%. The answers are marked automatically so that you’ll instantly know whether you passed. If you don't pass don't worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.

Duration

Approximately 30 minutes to complete the course in full. This can be spread out over multiple sessions or completed in a single session. There is no time limit for completion.

Do You Comply With Control of Noise at Work Regulations?

• Are your employees free from exposure to noise at work? i.e. from machinery, work processes and loud music?
• Are they all aware of the risks of noise exposures?
• Do they know how to reduce the risk and the findings from your risk assessment?
• Do they know how to properly fit and take care of personal hearing protection that you have issued?

If you answered 'no' to any of the above then your organisation may be in breach of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations and could be prosecuted or fined or served a notice or be exposed to significant legal claims. The provision of training is not a matter of choice or optional, it is an absolute legal requirement for your organisation.
