Module 1: Introduction to Health and Safety Law

The importance of good health and safety, the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974, duties of employers, employee duties, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, other health and safety regulations, and the Health and Safety Executive.

Module 2: Leadership and Management in Health and Safety

The role of a leader, the role of the board and senior managers, the roles of managers and supervisors, competence in health and safety, help from outside the business, and provision of training and information.

Module 3: Successful Health and Safety Management: Plan, Do, Check, Act

What is Plan, Do, Check, Act, plan - the health and safety policy, do - risk assessment, organisation and implementation, risk assessment, the four Cs of good organisation, deliver effective health and safety management, implement the plan, check - active monitoring, reactive monitoring of accidents and injuries, act - active performance review, ensuring actions after inspections and investigations, and Plan, Do, Check, Act - in summary.

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 15 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%. The answers are marked automatically so that you’ll instantly know whether you passed. If you don't pass don't worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
