High Speed Training is a team of over 70 people who are striving to fulfil our mission: Deliver training that helps people to be engaged, effective and safe in the career they’ve chosen.

To do this, we create online training courses that help customers across a wide-range of subjects and sectors. Having trained over a million people, we’re always looking to create new ways of engaging with our learners, and we’re looking forward to training the next million.

Your role in the team

  • Work with the Head of Marketing and marketing team to manage and coordinate all public relations activities for High Speed Training.
  • Contribute to marketing planning and message development.
  • Manage the implementation of HST’s PR strategy to gain relevant coverage, increase brand awareness in trade, regional and national publications.
  • Develop a media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media.
  • Be responsible for liaising with external PR agencies.
  • Lead content marketing projects to ensure organic SEO objectives are met, for examples quality links gained, traffic increases, improved organic SERPs.
  • Work with the SEO Manager on an SEO-focused digital PR strategy to compliment HST’s search presence, link equity and domain authority.
  • Work with internal stakeholders on different areas of PR including corporate, brand building, product launches, thought leadership, SEO, individual profile building and CSR.

Key tasks:

  • Work with other senior team members to develop a high level PR strategy in line with HST’s wider business objectives, mission, vision and values.
  • Execute on the strategy while balancing the competing priorities, messages and customer groups.
  • Develop HST’s digital presence to compliment SEO objectives.
  • Lead on agreed projects and campaigns including planning, resource allocation, budget, execution and accurate reporting of performance.
  • Build relationships with key journalists and relevant external stakeholders in target sectors.
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests.
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
  • Build relationships with thought leaders to grow industry awareness.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting customers and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them.
  • Lead creative discussions, training and contribute to decision making in agreed responsibility areas.

What we're looking for

  • Previous relevant PR experience.
  • Ability to combine digital and traditional PR approaches.
  • Experience of working with internal stakeholders on the coordination of various projects.
  • Experience of working with internal and external teams and agencies.
  • Self motivated with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workload to meet objectives.
  • Genuine passion for PR, content and social marketing with clear commitment to own personal development.
  • An excellent communicator and relationship builder.
  • Results focused and excellent analytical skills, using data to push strategic decisions in responsibility areas.
  • Exemplary written communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Our head office is in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. In response to Covid-19 we are currently operating as a fully remote business. High Speed Training in Ilkley

The picturesque town of Ilkley is situated in the Wharfe Valley, at the southern end of the Yorkshire Dales. The town is famous for its moor and you'll find fantastic countryside and walks for all abilities on our doorstep. The town is also home to one of the largest cycling clubs in the country.

At around a 25 minute commute from Leeds city central (by rail) and easily accessible by road, our main office is in a great location to enjoy all this.
