High Speed Training is a team of over 70 people who are striving to fulfil our mission: Deliver training that helps people to be engaged, effective and safe in the career they’ve chosen.

Your role in the team
As a Senior Frontend Developer at High Speed Training you’ll be responsible for working with our Product Owners to help bring our mission to life. We are all about our learners, so you will be creating and developing elegant, easy-to-use and innovative solutions that will help drive levels of customer engagement and satisfaction.
You’ll be part of an Agile squad working with colleagues from Commercial, Marketing, Content and Creative. You’ll be working closely with our web designers and backend developers to create user centered solutions. Validated Learning is really fundamental to how we build great products, and you’ll be working as a team to build tests, measure their success, and learn from the outcomes.
- Work alongside designers, developers and Product Owners to create and iterate on prototypes.
- Work in a sprint cadence and be able to accurately predict complexity of work undertaken.
- Able to iterate your solutions quickly whilst incorporating relevant feedback from stakeholders.
- Be the voice of web technologies and advise/guide decisions with the squad using this expertise.
- Be an advisor and influencer to improving our accessibility and performance scores.
- Have a strong sense of modern development culture and agile methodologies.
- Have a drive to improve our products through technology and best practices.
- Be an advocate and active participant in upskilling and mentoring other members of the team.
- An appetite to learn with us, and be a team player in an agile, multi-skilled squad.
What we're looking for
- A passion for the web. We want someone who advocates for the user and understands how standards and technologies can improve their experience.
- Varied technical experience is key, as you’ll be working alongside web designers and backend developers.
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript (ES6) and other related front-end technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3.
- Exposure to Typescript is not essential as long as there is a willingness to learn.
- Experience using and architecting APIs as part of a multi-skilled squad to build dynamic solutions.
- Proven experience building large scale projects using frameworks such as Angular, VueJs, or React.
- Comfortable using frontend pipeline tools such as npm, grunt, gulp, webpack.
- Exposure to testing Frameworks like Jasmine, Karma, Jest, Protractor.
- Exposure to Cloud Computing Services like AWS and Azure.
- Comfortable using systems such as Jira.
- Exposure to build automation and deployment tools such as Teamcity and Octopus Deploy
- Exposure to at least one server programming language such as PHP, Node or C#.
- Comfortable working with multiple CMS frameworks and building bespoke templates.

Our head office is in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. In response to Covid-19 we are currently operating as a fully remote business. We are following government guidelines closely and all employees are working from home wherever possible until further notice. High Speed Training in Ilkley
The picturesque town of Ilkley is situated in the Wharfe Valley, at the southern end of the Yorkshire Dales. The town is famous for its moor and you'll find fantastic countryside and walks for all abilities on our doorstep. The town is also home to one of the largest cycling clubs in the country.
At around a 25 minute commute from Leeds city central (by rail) and easily accessible by road, our main office is in a great location to enjoy all this.
