3 | Characteristics of Dyslexia | The characteristics of dyslexia, how children normally learn to read and write, and how the characteristics of dyslexia affect this ability. |
4 | Spotting the Signs | Spotting the signs in a young child, child or teenager, co- occurring difficulties, such as ADHD, Developmental Language Disorder, Developmental Coordination Disorder and Dyscalculia, hearing and vision problems and visual stress. |
5 | Action to Take | What to do if you suspect a child has dyslexia, using the ‘Three Waves of Intervention” and the “Graduated Approach” to support children who may have or do have dyslexia, screening tests, diagnostic assessments and information on becoming a dyslexia friendly school. |
6 | Dyslexia Diagnostic Assessment | When a child should get assessed, how to apply for an assessment, who will carry out the assessment, how to prepare for an assessment and the next steps. |

Aims of the Course
By taking this course, you will learn:

Assessment
Once you have completed all of the online training material for the course, you will be able to take the online assessment.
The assessment consists of 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%.
The answers are marked instantly so you will know whether you have passed as soon as you finish. If you don’t pass the assessment you can review the course material and take the assessment again as many times as necessary at no extra charge.
