Being online has become an important part of our daily lives, even for very young children - research has shown that 28% of 5–7-year-olds have their own mobile phone. For education professionals, this means that the safeguarding risks to the children and young people they work with have become even more widespread and complex than they were even a few years ago, and they are constantly evolving alongside technology. As a result, it is vital that all those who work with children receive regular, up-to-date training to protect children from online harms.

This Online Safety and Harms course is designed to support education professionals, teaching you everything you need to know about the potential online risks and harms children face, how to recognise signs that might indicate online harm or abuse, and how to effectively address online safety in school. The course includes a selection of PDFs that you can download and keep to refer back to.
