Module 1: Introduction

What is mental health? Statistics, common causes and symptoms, stigma, what you can do to help, mental health law at work and risk assessment.

Module 2: Types of Mental Health Problem

An overview of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, stress, PTSD, phobias, schizophrenia, eating disorders, self-harm, loneliness and panic attacks.

Module 3: Managing a Mental Health Problem

Tips to improve wellbeing, setting goals, peer support, sleep, diet, exercise, drugs and alcohol, mindfulness, taking a break, medication and recovery.

Module 4: Supporting Mental Health in the Workplace

Why mental health is not discussed at work, recognising a problem, talking about mental health, supporting a colleague, promoting a healthy workplace and tips for managers.

Module 5: Workplace Adjustments

Why are adjustments needed and what is meant by an adjustment? Fit notes, adjustments to the workplace, helping an employee to return to work and tips for managers.

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 10 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%. The answers are marked automatically so you will instantly know whether you have passed. If you don't pass don't worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
