Adhering to strict safer recruitment processes is an essential component of safeguarding children. Safer recruitment helps to ensure that the people you hire to work in your educational setting are suitable for the role and match up with your expectations, attitudes, and values.

This Safer Recruitment in Education Course provides you with the knowledge to ensure procedures are in place to recruit people who share your commitment to safeguarding children. At the end of this course, you will understand what’s involved in the process from start to finish, looking at compiling recruitment documentation, preparing for and conducting interviews, carrying out pre-appointment checks, and then continuing safer recruitment practices after appointment.

This course is written in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education and includes the proposed changes in the 2024 version of the guidance. The final version of KCSIE 2024 will come into force on 1 September 2024.
