Module 1: How to Use Healthcare PPE: Part 1

When should you use PPE, essential requirements for PPE, hand hygiene, pre-donning steps for PPE, how to use sterile and non-sterile gloves and how to use face masks and respirators.

Module 2: How to Use Healthcare PPE: Part 2

How to use eye protection, how to use aprons or long-sleeved gowns, how to use head and foot protection and wearing multiple items of PPE.

Module 3: Changing, Disposal, Storage, and Maintenance of PPE

When to change your PPE, changing gloves, changing face masks, changing respirators, changing eye and face protection, changing aprons and gowns, changing head and foot protection, what to do if your PPE is compromised, how to safely dispose of PPE, storing PPE, maintaining your PPE and general PPE safety rules.

Module 4: PPE During an Infection Risk

What is an 'infection risk', changing PPE, PPE shortages, delivering home care, how to safely dispose of and reuse PPE and further information for PPE usage.

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%. The answers are marked automatically, so you will instantly know whether you have passed. If you don't pass, don't worry. You can take the test as many times as you need – with no extra charge.
