High Speed Training are a team of over 50 people who are striving to fulfil our mission: Deliver training that helps people to be engaged, effective and safe in the career they’ve chosen.

To do this, we create online training courses that help customers across a wide-range of subjects and sectors. Having trained over a million people, we’re always looking to create new ways of engaging with our learners, and we’re looking forward to training the next million.

Your role in the team

As a Frontend Developer at High Speed Training you’ll be responsible for working with our Product Owners to help bring our vision to life. We are all about our learners, so you will be creating and developing elegant, easy-to-use and innovative solutions that will help drive levels of customer engagement and satisfaction.

You’ll be part of an Agile squad working with colleagues from Commercial, Marketing, Content and Creative. You’ll be working closely with our web designers and backend developers to create user centered solutions. Validated Learning is really fundamental to how we build great products, and you’ll be working as a team to build tests, measure their success, and learn from the outcomes.

  • Work alongside designers, developers and Product Owners to create and iterate on prototypes.
  • Work in a sprint cadence and be able to accurately predict complexity of work undertaken.
  • Able to iterate your solutions quickly whilst incorporating relevant feedback from stakeholder.
  • Be the voice of web technologies and be advising/guiding decisions with the squad using this expertise.
  • Have a strong sense of modern development culture and agile methodologies.

What we’re looking for

  • A passion for the web. We want someone who fights for the user and understands how standards and technologies can improve their experience.
  • Varied technical experience is key, as you’ll be working alongside web designers and backend developers.
  • Good knowledge of JavaScript (ES6) and other related front-end technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Comfortable using version control systems such as Git.
  • Exposure to frontend pipeline tools such as npm, grunt, gulp, webpack.
  • Exposure to testing Frameworks like Jasmine, Karma, Jest, Protractor.
  • Optional exposure to other programming languages such as PHP or C#.
  • Optional exposure to JavaScript frameworks such as Backbone, VueJs, Angular etc.

High Speed Training in Ilkley

The picturesque town of Ilkley is situated in the Wharfe Valley, at the southern end of the Yorkshire Dales. The town is famous for its moor and you'll find fantastic countryside and walks for all abilities on our doorstep. The town is also home to one of the largest cycling clubs in the country.

At around a 25 minute commute from Leeds city central (by rail) and easily accessible by road, our main office is in a great location to enjoy all this.
