This Level 3 Safeguarding Adults course will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of how to safeguard adults at risk. Module 1: Leadership in Safeguarding

This module explains the role of the safeguarding lead and ways of preventing abuse, including the six principles of safeguarding, empowering adults and creating and implementing safeguarding policies.

Module 2: Safer Recruitment

This module covers the importance of safer recruitment practices, including staff responsibilities and creating safer recruitment policy statements. It also outlines the different kinds of regulated activity with adults and the appropriate level of DBS check required for those who carry out such duties.

Module 3: Identifying Abuse

This module defines abuse and outlines risk factors for abuse, as well as how to identify types of abuse and the potential consequences of it.

Module 4: Responding to Disclosures

This module covers how to respond to disclosures and make referrals appropriately, as well as potential next steps and outcomes. It outlines how to respond to allegations about staff, whistleblowing policies and conducting disciplinary procedures.

Module 5: Multi-Agency Working

This module explains multi-agency working and the principles of appropriate information sharing, including for those who lack mental capacity. It also looks at assisted decision making and the role of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Liberty Protection Safeguards.

Module 6: Supporting Adults

This module explains how to provide help and support for adults who have experienced abuse, both as adults or as children, as well as victims of crime. It also outlines further resources available for victims of abuse and those supporting them.

The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be asked 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%. The answers are marked automatically so you will instantly know whether you have passed. If you don't pass don't worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.

This course is designed for anyone who is in a position of lead responsibility in settings where there are adults at risk. This includes, but is not limited to, Designated Safeguarding Leads or managers who have the chief responsibility for safeguarding in:

Which Safeguarding course is right for me?

Designated Safeguarding Lead Training is recommended for anyone wishing to understand the responsibilities of the Designated Safeguarding Lead, including those already in this position seeking further training and support, deputies and those assisting whoever holds the position, as well as those taking on a safeguarding lead for their organisation.


Level 3 Safeguarding Adults Training is recommended if you are looking to become a Designated Safeguarding Lead but you look after vulnerable adults in your care setting.


Advanced Safeguarding Adults (Level 2 Safeguarding) Training is recommended if you require an advanced level of safeguarding knowledge but you are not a Designated Safeguarding Lead/Officer or Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.


Introduction to Safeguarding Adults (Level 1 Safeguarding) Training is recommended if you have no prior safeguarding knowledge or do not require an advanced course. It is suitable for workers of all levels, including managers, supervisors, full-time staff, part-time staff and volunteers.


How do I access the training?

All of our training is done within your web browser - there are no apps to download or software to install.

After picking the courses you need and completing your purchase, you will receive a confirmation email. To access our courses yourself or to distribute them to others you just need to click the ‘Get Started’ button within the email and select which option you want. You will then be able to add the course(s) into an existing account, or create a new account.


Can I buy training for my team?

No, we want our courses to work around you so there’s no time limit in which you must complete the training after making a purchase. You can also split your training over as many different sessions as you wish, as course progress is saved as you make your way through the training. You’re free to learn entirely at your own pace.
