This Needles and Sharps training course teaches those working with needles and sharps, particularly in the health and social care industry, how to use and dispose of them safely to reduce the likelihood of injury. It outlines the risks associated with sharps use, the practices to avoid and the actions to take in the event of an accident.

This course outlines best-practice guidelines for the safe use and disposal of sharps equipment and details key sharps-related legislation to ensure both employers and employees are aware of their legal responsibilities regarding the safe use of sharps.

It is estimated that approximately 100,000 sharps-related injuries occur in UK hospitals and across the health sector every year. Therefore, it's vital that everyone handling sharps can do so safely.

How do you make your courses?

This approach is built on the widely recognised Double Diamond framework, adapted to ensure that every course is engaging, effective and rooted in the learner's reality.

We collaborate with experts in the field to help pinpoint the specific barriers preventing safe or ideal behaviour. We identify opportunities for the course to solve these barriers, increasing the likelihood that training will translate into real-world action.

By training with us you can be confident that you are taking a course that has gone through rigorous internal reviews and external approvals to truly be built with the learner in mind.
