What's in the pack?

Introduction

To begin, we delve into what safeguarding means and why it is so important. You’ll have access to expert video content that touches on the significance of your role in safeguarding children and young people.

Statutory safeguarding guidance

Get the latest on Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025 changes with our straightforward guide, as well as updates to Working Together to Safeguard Children (WTSC) 2023. We’ve included a pull-out document for easy access to more detailed information and added a link to this year’s quiz to test understanding.

The four main types of abuse

In this section, you will learn to identify the four main types of abuse: physical, emotional, sexual and neglect. We’ll highlight key signs to look out for with expert video content and encourage you to reflect on areas within your practice where you can enhance vigilance.

How we should respond to, and report any concerns

We’ll ensure staff understand what to do if they have a concern and the right information to record, with a range of discussion points to check their understanding. Hear from safeguarding experts and recognise the do's and don’ts of responding to a disclosure. You will also be presented with a safeguarding flowchart to help showcase the procedure for responding to concerns.

A variety of specific safeguarding issues

You’ll cover a variety of specific safeguarding issues including online safety, child-on-child abuse, radicalisation and extremism, mental health and domestic abuse. This section includes a number of activities and scenarios to help test knowledge and broaden your awareness.

Creating and maintaining an effective safeguarding culture

The video content in this section explores what a safeguarding culture is and the key elements that it encompasses. You will discuss how to create and maintain a culture of safeguarding in your setting, including everything from pupil voice to professional curiosity.

Closing section

Wrap up with key takeaways and a self-audit for your staff to complete. We’ve created a focus on professional development with useful free resources and details of fully accredited online training courses to further your knowledge.
